Magic Stone Path @ HVCCA Museum
2017 | Close-up
Hand-painted stones collected regionally and in every trip to other areas of the US and abroad along with man-made and varied natural elements like bones, recycled fur, resins among many other elements.
A path leading the Shamans spirit and energy. About colors, per anthropologist Anne Chapman, they painted their bodies in dark red, black, white and at times also ochre. Red and ochre came from soil, black from coal and white from grinding shells -all pigments were mixed with animal grease.
